The 2020 COVID-19 Operation Grant from the Petfinder Foundation provided much-needed financial relief during a stressful time of uncertainty and need. Even though the community shut down, our shelter continued to need funds to care for the many homeless animals under our roof.

Many shelter pets benefitted from the shut-down in 2020 because a lot of people who’d never wanted a pet in the past suddenly wanted a companion to help keep them sane while they were isolated at home.

It was feared that there would be a lot of adopted pets returned in the years following, but our shelter did not see much of a change with the return rate.

2020 was a record-breaking year for adoptions at the ASNN and the Operation Grant from the Petfinder Foundation was a big contributing factor to that. Without the money to pay our employees and our bills, we would not have made it!
