City of East Orange Animal Center: Bar Dog Operation Grant Report
How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?
The East Orange Animal Alliance is dedicated to ensuring that all shelter pets are fully vaccinated and protected. We have a shelter account with Zoetis Pharmaceuticals, and they provide us with rabies, bordetella, and distemper vaccines, along with flea and tick preventatives, heartworm preventatives, and pain medication when directed by the shelter veterinarian.
While this is not a glamorous use of grant funding, this donation is vital to allowing us to continue to keep zoological infection out of the shelter environment. This grant will fund one month of vaccinations for eight shelter pets.

Many of the pets that received vaccinations were adopted, but some are still at the shelter. Dogs who were supported by this grant include Georgia, Odessa, Joey, Dexter, Tyson, Brandy, and Lena, and cats Ollie, Theo, Leo, and Kate.
