Feline Lifeline: Cat Enrichment Grant Report

How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

Feline Lifeline is a small, all-volunteer organization that depends 100% on donations and grants. Most of our funds go toward cat food and veterinary costs, leaving us with few options to provide enrichment items to the felines in our care.

Thanks to the Petfinder Foundation's Cat Enrichment Grant, we were able to buy a few cat trees and scratching posts to provide to long-term fosters and their cats. These items enrich our cats' lives by giving them a safe and happy outlet for scratching, play, and sleeping!

How many pets did this grant help?

Dozens

Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.

Harpo (first photo) has been in our care since he was only about 2 months old. However, he is shy and skittish around strangers and new animals.

Since we provided his foster family with the cat tree, he has slowly come out of his shell. At first, he was curious about this new item in his foster home, but after seeing the other cats explore it, he dared to do the same.

He now plays with his fellow foster cats on it and is no longer as skittish around people as he once was. He seems much happier now that he can lie in the window on a perch all day.

You can meet Harpo here.
