Henderson Animal Care and Control: Play Pet Beds Grant Report

How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

This grant helped our shelter dogs and cats feel more comfortable while they waited for their forever homes. The beds were used in the cattery and the kennels and went home with the dogs and cats when they got adopted so they could retain their smell in a new environment to lessen their transition stress. Our shelter rarely gets new pet beds donated so this was a very special treat for our shelter pets!

Zimba was our spotlight dog for the P.L.A.Y. Pet Beds Grant. He loved resting on the bed while in the front office space waiting for adoption.

Zimba was an owner-surrender and was having difficulty in the shelter environment. In the front office, he was able to relax, removed from the shelter kennel noise and enjoying the attention from people.

Five days after Zimba was featured on our Facebook page sitting beautifully on his pet bed, he was adopted into a loving home!
