How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

We were able to ensure that with each adoption, a kitten was able to go home with an interactive and engaging Kong toy, one that was specific for them and would encourage safe play. We recently did an adoption event and we were able to send home 18 cats and kittens in one day. With each of those adoptions, we were able to highlight the grant we were awarded and the benefits of pairing kittens with Kongs.

So we have this kitten, his name is Ferdinand (photos 1-3). He has flat-chest syndrome. He is currently unable to be adopted as of yet, but is currently in foster care. Because he can’t do much in the way of activity, he does enjoy his donated Kong toys, which his foster keeps close by so he isn’t expending much effort going after them. The tiny Kong cat treat is of specific enjoyment to Ferdinand.
