How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?
With this grant, we were able to adopt out two hard-to-place cats using reduced adoption fees. This especially helpful since we spend a lot of financial resources to make sure our cats are in good health before getting adopted and therefore we usually rely on our adoption fees to stay in business.

Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.
We were able to provide a reduced adoption fee for a cat named Charlie. Charlie was abandoned at a Petco store near us. Charlie is a middle-aged kitty (around 7 years old).
We have found older cats like him to be harder to adopt out. With the grant, we were able to adopt him out to a home for a reduced fee, making the process easier than normal.
Unfortunately, Charlie was returned to us and is in a loving foster home now waiting for his forever home.
