How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

This grant allowed HumaneCNY to help Sweetart, a new mom who developed eclampsia shortly after giving birth to nine puppies. Funds from this grant were used specifically for Sweetart's care. Due to her previous lack of vet care and proper nutrition, she wasn't healthy enough to continue nursing her babies. We are grateful that she has since made a full recovery and found the perfect forever home!

This grant helped Sweetart, a young mom who had nine pups. Sweetart was rushed to the emergency vet and admitted for eclampsia. After a couple of days, Sweetart was released from the hospital, but she was unable to feed all those puppies due to her condition.

Because Sweetart could no longer nurse, all her pups required around-the-clock bottle feedings from several different fosters. In instances like this, it certainly takes a village to save animals, and we are so grateful that the Petfinder Foundation is a part of our village.

Since then, Sweetart has found a perfect forever home where she can finally feel safe.
