This grant allowed us to offer ample playtime and stress reduction to the dogs in our care that our budget does not allow for. This grant opened up a new realm of volunteers and activities that made the shelter environment more enjoyable for the pets and people.

Life with a ball is so much more fun! Spike got a ball of his very own and he wasn’t letting go. He played with his new ball for at least an hour until he tired himself out; lots of growling, tumbling and barking ensued during his play session — it was the cutest!

Pet enrichment is a vital component in shelter animals’ care, to stimulate their minds and keep them busy during their stay in a shelter. They don’t always get one-on-one time, so having toys to offer helps reduce stress and keeps them happy until find their furever homes, which is our goal!
