Alliston & District Humane Society: Purina Canada Happy Paws & Hearts Operation Grant Report

How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

Alliston & District Humane Society used this grant to support our cat and kitten program. The costs to get each cat or kitten ready for adoption are high. We treat each cat for fleas/ticks as well as tapeworms for those coming from outside; each cat receives two FVCP vaccinations (kittens receive three) as well as rabies, and is spayed or neutered and microchipped.

George, Jasmine, and Jewell came into our kitten program motherless and had been living in a trailer park. They were covered in ticks and fleas and required extra kitten milk in order to thrive. Our grant helped to provide these items and will be used to provide FVCP and rabies vaccinations, microchipping, and spay/neuters as we move them through the process to be ready for adoption.

She has not yet been adopted but is waiting eagerly for her new home! Her calm and affectionate demeanor makes her a great family pet. She can be seen on Petfinder here.
