Paws Above Rescue: Purina Canada Happy Paws & Hearts Operation Grant Report

How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

The Purina Canada Happy Paws & Hearts Operation Grant helped Paws Above Rescue cover the ongoing veterinary care of our rescue dogs and cats. The funds were used to ensure that both newly admitted animals and those in foster care received veterinary exams, vaccinations, parasite and worm testing/treatment, and spay/neuter surgeries. Proper medical care contributes to their overall health and adoptability.

Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.

Two older kittens – Shadow (first two photos) and Theodore (photos 3 and 4) – both arrived at Paws Above Rescue in April. They needed wellness exams, fecal analysis, and rabies and fvcrp vaccinations, as well as spay/neuter. The grant helped cover medical costs, ensuring the kittens were in good health before they became available for adoption.

We are pleased to announce that Theodore has been adopted and is thriving in his new home. Shadow is also in the process of being adopted.
