Hospice Pet Advocates DBA Patient Pet Advocates: Cat Enrichment Grant Report

How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

This grant allowed our organization to purchase items for our volunteer cat fosters to use in their homes to aid in the recovery and socialization that are vital to a successful rehoming process. We purchased highly desirable treats to help coax shy cats into increased interaction with their fosters. We also purchased toys to help stimulate the cats in our care and provide opportunities for exercise or play. We are a very small non-profit, so purchases like this are difficult for us to make on our own. Our fosters do a great job of providing for our cats, but it is a wonderful opportunity to be able to provide them with the tools they need.

Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.

Cleo is an 11-year-old white-and-gray domestic short-haired female cat. Cleo has been through some medical issues, but they seem to have been alleviated by a change to her diet.

She was a quiet, shy girl when she first arrived. After a few weeks in the good care of her foster, she is starting to come out of her shell. She really enjoys her catnip toys. She is currently up for adoption: Meet Cleo here.
