Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.

Several weeks ago, one of our volunteers found a 9-month-old gray pittie mix dumped on the side of the road and desperately needing help. The dog, Ziggy, suffered an obvious head injury and was covered in bite wounds.

Ziggy was rushed to the vet to receive treatment. Later that night, Ziggy started urinating blood, so we decided to take him to the animal hospital for further testing. Fortunately, the images showed no internal bleeding, and Ziggy was sent home to our shelter to recover.

Ziggy quickly became a volunteer favorite. Everyone who meets him instantly falls in love with him, including Mary, the owner and president of Lucky Dawg Animal Rescue. Mary is officially adopting Ziggy, now renamed Suds, this weekend! Suds will have six pittie sisters to grow up with.
