After these kittens were rescued from under a trailer in 90-degree weather, they were vetted and eventually adopted out.
Barrio (first photo) and My Munequita (second photo) were adopted out TOGETHER on Oct. 6 to their forever home in Corning, NY! Of course they will have each other, as well as their new parents, a puppy, and the sweetest, best-behaved, most gentlemanly 7-year-old boy to help them feel at home.
We are so happy that these beautiful kittens could be adopted together as siblings and that they didn’t have to grow up entirely in a shelter/rescue setting. They can now have the “childhood” that they deserve to have in a real home where a family loves and appreciates them.
Smooth (third photo), another kitten, was also rescued from under the same trailer in the 90-degree heat. She was adopted and here is her adoption post!
“Smooth was adopted tonight to her forever home in Corning, NY, where she will have another feline companion who was also adopted from us back in July of 2023! (Did we mention lately that we LOVE our return adopters?) There is nothing better than welcoming back great customers and having complete trust and confidence in them because we’ve already seen what they are capable of with previous pets. Smooth sat by the door and waited for her parents to officially choose her. Sometimes, when you know, you know!”
Pollyanna (fourth photo) was rescued from an animal-hoarding house and later adopted out. Here is her adoption story:
“Pollyanna was chosen today, or maybe we should say that she ‘picked her person.’ She was a local adoption and her forever landing place will be in Wellsboro, PA.
“This sweet older torbie girl was rescued from an abandoned house in the Millerton/Daggett area this past spring after she had been left behind through absolutely no fault of her own.
“Pollyanna was believed to be about 8 years old and, and even though that isn’t THAT old, it is frankly old enough to make an animal super hard to adopt out as the majority of adopters are not looking to necessarily choose an animal that is considered a senior as they COULD pass sooner than a younger animal. (Honestly, there really is no guarantee on the length of life that any animal lives, but of course the odds are not great if an animal is a little older to begin with.)
“With that said, Pollyanna met a great match today and she turned out to be a senior who was adopted by a senior and her family! We will miss this polydactyl queen whom we lovingly called E.T. as a nickname. She reminded us of an extraterrestrial when she walked because of how odd-looking her feet were and how wide her eyes seemed at all times.
“Pollyanna was a very chill lady who just loved a particular cat stand/scratching post so much that we gave it to her forever family to take with them as a comfort to her in her new home. Pollyanna literally curled up on this cat stand about 95% of the time when she was in our care. The stand had been donated by one of our previous adopters.”
Renegade (fifth photo) was rescued from an animal-hoarding house and was later adopted out. Here is his post:
“Renegade was adopted out today to his forever home in Hornell, NY. He was originally rescued from an abandoned house along with some other cats and kittens this past May over Memorial Day weekend. His life had been turned completely upside down due to being left behind (through absolutely no fault of his own) when his people moved out of the house. When we found him, he was crawling out of the ceiling, crying, and extremely hungry — we could actually hear him crying long before we entered the house. Imagine this poor guy’s distress and confusion!
“Today the tides have turned for him and he will never have to be left behind or abandoned ever again. We believe that we have found a good adopter who will commit to him in the way that he always deserved.
“Thank you to Renegade’s adopter for choosing to adopt an adult cat who can be a little shy at first. We all deserve a little patience!”
