Skitty is a beautiful 7-year-old tortoiseshell kitty. She is sweet and talkative and loves being petted.
Skitty was a previous TNR-colony cat who was re-released after TNR surgery, but later socialized by a wonderful lady in that neighborhood. (Hence her name, “Skitty,” as she was a skittish kitty.) This wonderful woman befriended and cared for Skitty, socializing her until she was ready to live indoors. Skitty hit the jackpot!
Sadly, her luck came to an end a few years later, when the wonderful lady passed away. Skitty was left homeless. Stray Cat Blues wasted no time bringing her into foster care a few weeks ago; however, it quickly became clear that Skitty was in desperate need of medical attention. Both of Skitty’s eyes were filled with blood and, sadly, her vision could not be saved.
The cause of the trauma is unknown, but it was too late to save her vision. While medication cleared up the blood, she will not regain her vision, and the vet suggested emergency enucleation (eye removal) surgery to ensure her long-term comfort.
The surgery was completed and Skitty healed very well. While she no longer has vision, she has adapted well and is no longer in pain from the condition. Once fully healed, Skitty will soon be available for adoption into a forever home!
