How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?
The money was used to remove eight of Kenny's teeth, improving the quality of life for this cat with special needs.
Kenny is one of our most special cases at The Catio Cat Lounge. Thanks to the generosity of the Petfinder Foundation's Emergency Medical Grant, Kenny is able to be free of dental pain, helping us ensure he is eating well.

Kenny is one of our most resilient Catio cats. He came to us as a kitten after suffering a fall from a cat tree that resulted in permanent neurological damage. From the moment he arrived, it was clear he would need specialized lifelong care to live comfortably and safely.
As a result of his injury, Kenny has extensive neurological challenges that affect his mobility. Walking is difficult, and he experiences seizures that require daily medication to manage. Over time, we learned that even something as small as his fur rubbing against furniture can trigger an episode, so we keep him trimmed in a lion cut year-round, which has made a tremendous difference in reducing seizure activity.
More recently, Kenny underwent an extraction of eight painful teeth to ensure he could eat without discomfort. Thanks to the support of your grant, we were able to provide that relief and cover some of his ongoing care.
Despite his challenges, Kenny is full of personality and spirit! One of his favorite pastimes is taking stroller rides around the vicinity of the Catio, and we have numerous volunteers that love to take Kenny for daily walks. He jumps into the stroller immediately when he sees it come out, and he loves to watch people and birds on his walks.
Kenny is currently still in the care of the Catio.
