Alleghany Humane Society: KONG Toys Grant Report
How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?
The number of incoming medium and large dogs remains high and adoption numbers remain low. In our area, the majority of canine intakes are discarded hunting hounds. We work hard to create a home-like environment for shelter residents, and the donation of KONG toys furthers our efforts toward this goal. This enrichment for our canines is so important to their well-being while in our care.

This is Lewis. He is one of our long-term residents, having been at our shelter since March 2023. Enrichment such as a KONG toy is vitally important to long-term residents like Lewis to help sustain his loving and friendly demeanor. We are hoping that Lewis will find a wonderful home soon!
