Critters Pet Rescue Foundation: KONG Toys Grant Report

How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

This grant helped our organization and the pets in our care by providing toys for each rescue dog that comes into our care. We are a foster-based rescue and enjoy sending our rescue dogs with a goodie bag with food, a toy, and any other necessities they may need. With this grant, we are able to provide a toy for every dog without having to pay for them out of our rescue fund. This has made a huge financial impact in a positive way for our rescue.

Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.

Lola is a sweet Lab-pit bull mix who came to us shortly after we were awarded this grant.

She is 6 years old and she had been with her previous owners her whole life. Coming to us was a huge change for Lola and it made her extremely nervous.

We were able to find her the perfect foster fit, her who is taking the time needed to work with her on training and getting more confident in a new environment.

Lola was so thankful to have her Kong toy filled with peanut butter to enjoy at her foster home. She has shown huge strides and seems much more confident going into public spaces. Her foster is currently working with her to decide if she will be a good forever placement in their family!
